Ephesus Biblical Tour

This tour is focussed on Christian History in Ephesus.

You will be welcomed by your tour guide at the pickup place at the determined time. Our tours start from Kusadasi port / hotel; Izmir port / airport / hotel or from Istanbul. We will arrange a private, comfortable, non-smoking, A/C vehicle and a private driver.

You will drive to Ephesus Ancient City which is one of the best well-kept Roman Cities in the World, was the capital of Asia Minor; the most important commercial center of western Anatolia; one of the seven churches of Christianity in Asia Minor; the city where Saint Paul preached and was mentioned several times in New Testament.There is 1.5 km walk in the ancient city starts from upper gate through lower gate.

You will have an extensive tour in this ancient site where you will see Domitian’s, Trajan’s and Hadrian’s Temples, the huge Roman bath, Harbour Street, Marble Street, the Gates of Mihridates and Mazues, Commercial Agora, Latrina, the Scolastica Baths, Curetes Street, Polio Fountain, Memius’ Monument, the Prytaneion, Odeon, the State Agora, the Celsus Library and the biggest amphitheater in Turkey.

Visiting The Temple of Artemision which is known as one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient world. The location of temple in only one place in the world where you can see 3 different religious worship places as Temple, Mosque and Church in the same angle.

Later you will visit Saint John Church. It is believed that the Evangelist St. John had spent his last years in the region around Ephesus and buried in the southern slope of Ayasuluk Hill. The tomb of St John was under the central dome.

After, you will visit Mother Marry’s house. This is believed to be the last house of the Virgin Mary, Mother of Jesus. The three Popes visited here as, Paul 6th in 1967, John 2nd in 1979 and finally Benedict 16th 2006.  This House was later visited by Popes Paul VI and John Paul II, who confirmed its appropriateness as a place of pilgrimage. On November 29, 2006, Pope Benedict XVI celebrated mass hereIt is estimated that Mary came in the area together with Saint John who spent several years in Ephesus to spread the Christianity. Here is still active for worship where was declared as a shrine for Christians.

• You can try one of the local restaurants or stop by some local shops acording to your interests and time.
• Walking is about 1.5 km distance so comfortoble shoes recommended.
• Terrace Houses museum is extra fee. Entrance fee to the Ephesus is not including terraces houses museum.
• Children over 5 pay the full adult price to enter the Terrace Houses which is optional.
• Please note the Terrace Houses are not suitable for wheelchair-users and those who have difficulty in climbing stairs.
